Department of Information Technology

Department of Information Technologies (abbreviated UIT in Czech language) is a department of the School of Business Administration in Karviná (SBA) of the Silesian University in Opava (SU), which ensures the use of information technology in the teaching process as well as in the operation of study, economic and administrative agendas.
The UIT manages the faculty's computer network and operates the faculty's comprehensive information system.
UIT participates in teaching computer science courses and is involved in faculty research.

21.10.2024 There are new PCs and new 27' monitors in classrooms A216 and A318.


Office 2024

16.10.2024 MS Office 2024 is available from October 2024. If you use the so-called numbered versions of Office on your PCs, please request a reinstallation via helpdesk. Alternatively, every employee has the option to install the always up-to-date Office 365.


Horizon version 8

1.9.2024 An updated version of the Omnisa (ex Vmware) Horizon remote access system is now available. Within it it is possible to use Windows 11 PC. Details can be found at Remote access to applications Vmware Horizon.
